Rainbow of Destruction Part 1 by Lunya Z

    Previously, the evil of The Evil One had returned and was trying with more force than ever to take over the universe and rule it with his evil ways. Only now he had more than just Murky and Lurky helping him. He had put Stormy and Storm Sprite under his evil spell. With their and other new evil's help, he had captured Rainbow Brite. Somehow, The Evil One had been able to tap into her powers and drain them.
    Despite all this, the brightness of Rainbow Brite still brought light to the universe through Spectra. No matter where Rainbow was while captured, the farthest place away from her still received some of the brightness.
    The Evil One really needs to work on his evil spells. Even though the spell on Stormy made her evil and serve The Evil One, she has a different goal in the long run. That goal is to destroy The Evil One, so she can be the ruler of all the evil in the universe.
    The only people left to defend the earth are the Color Kids. They have been camping out on the planet Earth, protecting it from The Evil One's minions, who want to take away all the color and turn it into a vast wasteland where there is no hope.
    How will this struggle end? Will it end? Time will show.
~~~*~*~~~
    "Now is the time to complete my master plan, Stormy."
    Stormy listened to a voice from a sky surrounded by clouds.
    "Summon all my evil forces to attack everywhere in the universe!"
    Stormy raised her hand to the sky, letting lightning strike down in front of her. "Let the battle begin!"
~~~*~*~~~
    Stormy stood on top of a huge platform, speaking to minions of hers.
    "When we're finished, there will be no good left in the universe. No love! No color! No happiness! Only anger! Chaos! Greed!"
    The minions cheered for Stormy.
    "Fight strong, and destroy *all* the forces of good in this universe. Especially those Color Kids!"
    "Yeah!" Storm Sprite, standing besides Stormy, shouted in agreement.
    "Go now, and spread the wrath of The Evil One!"
    "Yeah!" The crowd shouted.
    All of Stormy's minions, mostly clouds of gloomy smoke, flew out of Stormy's fortress in Earth's sky, and all around the universe, spreading the message.
~~~*~*~~~
    "Orders coming in!"
    Plock and his group of rip off salesmen read the orders coming in from Stormy.
    "Ha ha, time for the biggest event in history!" They all shouted, then got in their corny flying vehicles and flew, spreading their evilness everywhere.
~~~*~*~~~
    On Spectra, Kyrs and all the Spectran sprites fought The Princess' forces.
    "Evil?" The Princess pouted. "I'll show that little brat Stormy what evil really is!"
~~~*~*~~~
    "There she is!"
    Sorrel and all his sorcerer pals were on a communication line to Stormy's fortress.
    "Who do you think you are, giving us this 'plan' to take over?" Sorrel demanded.
    "We don't need your plan! We.... uh... have our own plan!" Another sorcerer said.
    "Shut up!" Stormy loudly ordered. "I make the strategies, and you just follow orders."
    "Oh yeah? Well who, may I ask, put you in charge?" Sorrel asked.
    "Let's see, besides me and Storm Sprite-"
    "Yeah!" Storm Sprite put in a side comment.
    "-The Evil One himself." Stormy smiled.
    "Oh, well in that case..."
    "We love your plans!"
    "Thought you might." Storm Sprite said.
    Stormy walked out of the communications room. "Get me those rip off salesmen and The Princess. NOW!"
    "Right away!" Storm Sprite hopped out of the room they were in.
    "Excellent." Stormy ripped a sheet off of an object. That object was a huge tube, with Rainbow Brite sealed inside. "Welcome, Rainbow Brite. It looks like you're almost out of energy. Soon you won't even be here at all."
    "You won't succeed, Stormy."
    "Oh no? Just watch." Stormy turned on a screen showing all the battles all across the universe. "Here's your front row seat to the end of your era. And the beginning of mine."
~~~*~*~~~
    All over the universe, the evil forces were winning. The Princess controlled Spectra, practically owning the diamond. The sorcerers had poor Wajah's planet under a colorless spell. The rip off salesmen stole color with their tricky ways throughout the universe. And more, as Stormy and Rainbow watched.
    "Stormy, you can stop this, before it's too late." Rainbow said.
    Stormy just stared at the screen.
    "Has The Evil One filled you with so much hate that you would destroy your own home?"
    Stormy just smiled slightly and exited the room.
~~~*~*~~~
    Back in Rainbow Land, only Moonglo, Indigo, and Twink were left to run the place, as the Color Kids were on Earth protecting things there. A sprite hopped in and explained in sprite talk how Stormy's minions were hacking back the last of their defenses.
    "We can't take this much longer." Moonglo said morosely.
    "We have to keep trying!" Twink insisted.
    Indigo started to leave the room.
    "Hey! Where are you going?!" Twink demanded.
    "I'll be back, with the other color kids." Indigo said.
    Moonglo nodded.
    "Be careful!" Twink whined at her before she left.
~~~*~*~~~
    As Indigo flew through space on her own small indigo rainbow beam, a few of Stormy's smoke cloud minions approached her. She was about to shoot her indigo color beam at them, which would cause the smoke clouds to disappear, but the smoke beam ran into her. Indigo held on for her life at the edge of the rainbow. She tried to get back up, but the smoke clouds would run into her.
    Suddenly, there was another, bigger rainbow seen nearby. It was composed of all the colors except for Indigo. The other six Color Kids rode on it. "Now!" Red said, and the kids shot their rainbow beams at the smoke clouds.
    "Thank you!" Indigo shouted to the others. She smiled, and joined her Rainbow with the others, completing the spectrum.
    "Happy to help!" Patty said.
    "Rainbow Land needs our help." Indigo quickly said. "They've been able to hold everyone off so far, but-"
    "It isn't just Rainbow Land." Shy Violet informed. "All over, The Evil One has someone attacking, everywhere."
    "The Princess has taken over Spectra." Buddy said.
    "Those stupid rip-off salesmen have tricked everyone into giving them their color."
    "They're trying to take over the whole universe." Indigo said in awe.
    "Exactly." Red added.
    "Look! Lots of those smoke things!" Canary pointed.
    "Where are they going?" Red asked.
    No one answered as they saw the planet they were getting to -- Earth.
    "Hang on Earth! We're on our way!" Buddy said.
~~~*~*~~~
    Back on Earth, residents watched helpless, as the smoke creatures sucked color and life from the world.
    "This is the biggest attack yet." Red observed as the Rainbow came closer to earth. The kids destroyed a few Smoke creatures still above the earth.
    "We took care of some of them." Lala said optimistically.
    "I'll stay here, and take care of these, you go down to earth." Indigo said.
    "But-" Red began.
    "It's okay!"
    Red nodded, and the rainbow was separated of one of it's colors. The rest of the Color Kids flew down on the Rainbow to earth.
    "We can do this guys! Don't give up!" Red encouraged them.
    "Right!"
    The Rainbow separated and the kids flew around the world, destroying the smoke creatures, and somewhat restoring life. But destruction still raged. And the enemies seemed to never leave.
    A group of smoke creatures led by Murky were overpowering Lala Orange. Red noticed this and quickly went to her.
    "Lala!" Red shouted, then shot a huge beam of red color, destroying most of them.
    Storm Sprite hopped onto the scene and glared at the red beam in the sky. "Stupid red color kid! Take this!" Storm sprite shot a bolt of lightning at Red, and caused him to fall onto the ground.
    Lala walked up to him. They were both surrounded by the smoke creatures. "Are you okay?"
    "Yeah." Red nodded. "Let's get out of here."
    "Hold it right there!" Murky shouted.
    "You're not going anywhere." Storm Sprite said.
    Murky shot a gloom gun at the pair, while Storm Sprite shot lightning. The combined shot hit the two.
    Red tried to shoot his red rainbow beam, but it wouldn't work. The same happened to Lala.
    "Come on, let's go find everyone else." Lala grabbed Red's arm and they both ran away.
    "After them!" Murky ordered.
~~~*~*~~~
    Elsewhere on earth, Indigo fell, also out of power.
    The other kids fought together, then released that they were out of power as well.
    "We've got to-" Buddy dodged a smoke monster. "-retreat!"
    Buddy and Shy Violet ran away. Canary still tried to use her failing powers.
    "There's too many of them, come on, we have to go!" Patty tugged Canary away, and they both ran as fast as possible away from the creatures.
~~~*~*~~~
    People walked around in drones, led my the smoke creatures. It now appeared as if The Evil One had won there on Earth.
    Where the other kids were hiding, Patty and Canary entered.
    "There you are!" Buddy jumped up and led the limping Patty and Canary to a seat.
    "Are you all all right?" Lala asked.
    "We're getting our butts kicked." Patty said.
    "We're never had this much of a challenge before." Shy Violet added.
    Red hit the ground in frustration. "There has to be a way to win. We'll find it."
~~~*~*~~~
    "It's almost ready." Storm Sprite said to Stormy. They both stared at a devise that had been built.
    "Good. This should take care of one of our biggest problems." Stormy said, then they both exited.
    From a corner, Murky evily giggled. "How about one of my biggest problems? I've been controlled by 'The Evil One' and Stormy for too long. It's time for me to take care of them both." Murky evily laughed. He walked up to the weapon, and climbed into the space ship that would be used to haul it.
    "Taking candy from a baby..." Murky muttered as he blasted off.
~~~*~*~~~
    "First we target here, here, and here." Storm Sprite explained as he and Stormy looked at a map.
    "No one can stop us now." Stormy stated.
    The Evil One appeared out of Stormy's fortress. "Stormy!" it called.
    "Ah, Evil One." Stormy walked to a window where she could see it. "The attack on Earth is going very well."
    "Good, very good. With the Color Kids, make sure you finish the job." The Evil One said to her.
    "Of course. And we have just the weapon to do it with." Stormy stared forward with a crazed look.
    In space, behind The Evil One, Murky flew in the weapon he had stolen. "To the ruler of the universe, the destroyer of all color, which will soon be me!" Murky laughed and fired the weapon at The Evil One.
    "Who dares fire upon me?!" The Evil One screeched.
    "That would be me." Murky giggled, and fired again.
    The Evil One began to glow, as he was almost destroyed.
    "Evil One!" Stormy shouted from inside the fortress. She knew what was about to happen. "The Evil One, destroyed? How could this happen? This is impossible."
    "Now, to take care of Stormy and Storm Sprite!" Murky aimed at the fortress.
    The Evil One, not quite destroyed, jumped in front of Murky before he could fire. "Traitor!" it shouted, before swallowing up Murky, then blowing up, destroying them both.
    On Earth, the Color Kids and other residents watched as dark stripes covered the sky, then disappeared.
    "What could that have been about?" Patty asked the others, puzzled.
    "Hey!" A transmission came in from Twink on Violet's communication devise.
    "Yes Twink?" Violet asked.
    "The Evil One was just destroyed!"
    "But if The Evil One's gone... Then who's in charge of the evil?" Buddy asked.
    "That's right! It must be over!" Lala said happily.
    "Yay!" Canary exclaimed.
    Their celebration was too soon, for at that moment, a image of Storm Sprite appeared in the sky of Earth, where all could see, as well as the skies of every other world. "The Evil One has been destroyed." he informed. "Your new leader is Stormy, the queen of all darkness!"
    "No! It can't be!" Red shouted.
    Storm Sprite continued. "With her, all good will be destroyed, and evil will rule!"
    All over the universe the evil stared as an image of it's new supreme leader, Stormy, appeared in the sky.
    On Spectra, the Princess saw and whined. "Not her!" The Princess' minions started to bow to the image. "Stop! Don't do that! You work for *me*!"
    Everywhere else, all evil bowed to Stormy.
    Inside the fortress, Stormy grinned. "I really am the supreme ruler."
    "The universe will answer to your call!" Storm Sprite added.
    "Stormy," Rainbow Brite spoke to her. Stormy turned toward where Rainbow was captured. "You are no longer under The Evil One's rule. You can use your powers to stop this madness. Search your heart."
    "Shut up!" Storm Sprite pointed at Rainbow.
    "You aren't evil." Rainbow added.
    Stormy felt a pain in her head and winced as she looked down. It was her own self trying to break the spell.
    "Ah, Stormy! What's wrong?" Storm Sprite asked.
    Stormy looked up with a blank expression. "You're right," she said to Rainbow. "I'm not just evil. I'm the Queen of evil!"
    "Yeah!" Storm Sprite evily laughed.
    "Let's move it! Time to take care of Earth once and for all."
~~~*~*~~~
    On Earth, people watched as Stormy's fortress approached.

Rainbow of Destruction Part 2 by Lunya Z

    From their hiding place, the Color Kids watched as the smoke creatures led the people of Earth around.
    Then all noticed as Stormy's fortress came from the sky. Lightning struck. Stormy and Storm Sprite appeared on top of a building.
    "People of earth," Stormy began to speak. "This is Stormy. The rest of the universe has surrendered. The color kids aren't going to save you. They already tried, and they FAILED." Stormy paused as the earth people murmured among themselves. "*I* control Earth! The Color Kids are among you, somewhere.... Hiding from me! I will not allow this. I want them brought to me by morning, or I'll destroy the whole planet!"
    Lightning struck again, and Stormy and Storm Sprite disappeared.
~~~*~*~~~
    The color kids, sans Indigo, who had gone to help on Rainbow Land, sat around in their hiding place, pondering.
    "What are we going to do?" Canary wondered. "Everyone is counting on us!"
    Suddenly Indigo fell in front of them.
    "Indigo? What happened?!" Red asked.
    "Are you all right?" Patty asked.
    "I'm fine." Indigo said.
    "And what happened on Rainbow Land?" Buddy asked.
    "They surrendered."
    "We're on our own now." Lala said.
    "Anyone that could have helped us has been captured or destroyed." Patty added.
    "If only there was a way for us to win." Shy Violet said.
    "There is." Red said from his corner.
    "And what would that be?" Buddy asked, not expecting a rational answer.
    "If I could sneak into the fortress, I know I could get through to my sister." Red began.
    "Red, listen. She's not your sister anymore. She isn't the Stormy we used to know." Buddy said.
    "She'll destroy you as soon as she sees you!" Patty said.
    "You've got to face it. There is no more good left in her." Indigo said.
    "I'll never accept that!" Red yelled.
    "Listen!" Canary interrupted the argument. "We still have some time. We're not beaten yet!" She smiled cheerfully.
    "Canary is right." Buddy said.
    "Let's make a plan!" Patty held out a map of the earth, and all the other Color Kids crowded around it, making suggestions.
    Except for Red. He had a pretty dark expression on his face, standing in his corner. Seeing that no one would notice, he began to walk away. No one did notice, except for Lala, who went and followed him. She saw him about to use his red rainbow to fly around.
    "Where are you going?"
    "Uh..." Red stuttered. "I was just.... uh..."
    "Red, you can't just leave." Lala looked very upset.
    "Lala, listen, I have to try and get through to Stormy. I just have to."
    "Right..."
    "Hey, if I don't see you again-"
    "We're going to see you again!" Lala interrupted, trying not to cry.
    "Yeah." Red smiled. "See you later!"
    Red flew off on his Rainbow beam.
~~~*~*~~~
    The next day, Stormy and Storm Sprite appeared on top of the same building.
    "You Color Kids, what cowards!" Stormy yelled. "You're going to sacrifice this whole planet just for yourselves?" No one answered. "Fine. I'll ask one last time. Where are the Color Kids?!"
    People murmured among themselves, for no one knew where the Color Kids were.
    "Looks like they're gonna keep them from you." Storm Sprite commented.
    "As you wish." Stormy smiled. The color kids ran into the crowd as she shouted. "Let the destruction of earth be-"
    "WAIT!" Someone from the crowd interrupted.
    "What is it?!" Stormy demanded.
    Into a clearing in the crowd tumbled Brian, now seventeen years old. "I'm a Color Kid." he said boldly.
    "Ha, really?" Stormy scoffed.
    Brian looked his blue shirt. "I'm the blue Color Kid. Here for you." Brain bowed.
    A girl jumped next to Brian. "And I'm the yellow Color Kid."
    "I'm the red Color Kid!"
    "And I'm the green Color Kid!"
    "Wow, look at that." Buddy observed.
    Everyone in the crowd spoke.
    "I'm a Color Kid too!"
    "Yay! Me too!" A boy jumped up and down.
    "Fine then." Stormy glared at everyone. "Destroy them all!"
    Lightning struck everywhere, and people screamed.
    "Hold it right there!" Patty shouted.
    Everyone looked at the six color kids standing on a wall nearby.
    "We're the Color Kids!" Buddy said.
    Indigo shot up an indigo rainbow beam just to prove it. "You've gone too far, Stormy! We'll stop you!"
    "Yeah!" Canary agreed.
    All the kids shot a rainbow beam together, destroying many of the smoke creatures. Then they jumped down from the wall and started to destroy more of them.
    "Let's get back to the fortress." Storm Sprite suggested to Stormy. Stormy nodded, and they both disappeared into the fortress again.
    "Let's help these kids!" Brian shouted. "Who's with me?"
    People jumped into the Color Kid's struggle, blocking some hits that might have come to them.
~~~*~*~~~
    Back on Stormy's fortress, many smoke creatures and Storm Sprite walked around, guarding the section of the fortress where Stormy was.
    Red stood behind the heavy door that led to that section, carrying two crowbars. "Here I go..." He said to himself, then hurled a crowbar into a door that led to a nearby section. An alarm went off.
    "Huh?" Storm Sprite looked up. "Ah! The alarm! All of you, get over there!" Storm Sprite led out all the smoke creatures, then walked out himself.
    When they were all out, Red jumped through the door, slammed it shut, and locked it.
    Storm Sprite noticed who it was. "Ah! The red Color Kid!" He banged on the door. "Open up! Hey you! I said open up!"
    Inside, Red smiled. "That should keep them busy for a while. Now, I've got to find my sister." Red walked further in, looking around. Then he noticed Rainbow Brite, trapped in the tube. "Rainbow!" he shouted in surprised.
    "Yes Red, it's me." Rainbow spoke.
    "Rainbow, I can't believe it. I thought I'd never see you again."
    "Red, listen to me, for there isn't much time." Rainbow was very serious.
    "Yeah?"
    "The forces of evil already control most of the universe. Soon they will control Earth as well."
    "Yeah, I know." Red looked at his feet.
    "You can stop it from happening."
    "How? Tell me!" Red asked.
    "Shatter this energy tube."
    "No!" Red yelled.
    "Only my good energy can counteract the evil energy that is now rules all over the universe."
    "But Rainbow, what'll happen to you?"
    "I will die." Rainbow said. "But my spirit will live forever in all that is good."
    "No! Rainbow, there has to be another way."
    "There is no other way. I'm sorry Red."
    "Okay..." Red looked at the crowbar in his hand. He walked toward where Rainbow was captured, with it raised in his hand. "Good-bye again, Rainbow."
    Red was about to shatter the tube with the crowbar, but then stopped suddenly, falling to his knees. "Rainbow, no! I can't. You ask too much... I won't destroy you."
    Suddenly someone stepped out from the shadows. "How about if I destroy you?" Stormy asked, getting ready to shoot at Red.
    "Stormy!" Red was shocked.
    Stormy smiled and walked closer to Red.
    "Stormy, you've got to listen! I'm your brother. Don't you remember? And all the Color Kids, we're all your friends!"
    "Victory is at my fingertips." Stormy said, now standing in front of Rainbow's tube. "You can't stop me." Stormy laughed, then shot lightning at Red. Red dodged.
    "Stormy, stop!" Red stood up and walked up to her. Stormy shoved him away, and he fell on the ground again. "You don't know what you're doing! Listen to me! I'm your brother!"
    Stormy shoved Red, causing him to fly against the wall. She got ready to give a fatal shot of lightning to him. "Good-bye, 'brother'." She smiled.
    Red lay on the ground, helpless. He would never be able to defend himself if it meant hurting Stormy. Stormy shot. The lightning went towards Red. But it didn't hit him. It bounced off the crowbar he had been carrying, and went back, hitting Stormy.
    Stormy fell to the ground. She was dead.
    Red looked in horror. He ran over to her corpse. "Oh no, Stormy, what have I done? Stormy! Can you hear me? No!!!"
    Outside the door, Storm Sprite broke through. He saw Red kneeling by Stormy. "Ah! What did you do?"
    "I-It was an accident." Red said.
    "Your own sister! How could you!" Storm Sprite shot lightning at Red, who got out of the way. He cried. "Stormy, wake up! Oh no."
    Red was speechless, in a corner again. Rainbow spoke to him. "Red, listen to me. Time in running out."
    "Huh?"
    "It's your duty to protect the universe. Now is the time to save it."
    Red stood up, and walked toward Rainbow's tube, with the crowbar raised.
    "What the heck are you doing?!" Storm Sprite asked.
    Red shattered the tube Rainbow was in. Rainbows shot around everywhere. One hit Storm Sprite, turning him to dust.
~~~*~*~~~
    The rainbows spread all over the universe.
    All the machines created for evil were turned to dust.
    All the bad guys, former minions of The Evil One and/or Stormy, including the rip-off salesmen, sorcerers, and The Princess had all visions of evil plots erased from their mind and were given a sense of peace.
    It colored everywhere in the universe, making it as bright as it might seem when Rainbow Brite had just been there.
    On earth, the Rainbows hit all of the smoke creatures, destroying them. The Rainbows also hit the Color Kids, turning them into normal looking children. Everyone cheered. The color kids made their way through the crowd, some exchanging high five's, into a clearing.
    "Hey, anything from Red?" Canary asked Lala.
    "No..." Lala looked at the ground. "I don't think he's going to come back.."
    Suddenly there was a sound heard. Everyone stared to the sky as Stormy's fortress approached.
    "Oh no, it's Stormy!" Shy Violet observed.
    "She's won..." Patty said.
    Before there could be more discussion, the fortress door opened and Red walked off, carrying Stormy's dead body.
    "Red!" The kids cheered and walked up to him. Then they saw Stormy and were silent.
    Red lay Stormy's corpse on the ground. He looked around and saw the other kids and many people looking at him. They all knew what he had done, or at least Red thought. He looked down. Stormy was gone forever, and it was all his fault. Red's eyes filled with tears, and he cried.
    The tears fell on Stormy. Then something magical happened. Stormy's clothing changed from the uniform she had always wore under the control of The Evil One, to her normal Storm Maker's outfit. Then Stormy opened her eyes. "Red?" she sat up. "Hey guys, what am I doing here?"
    "She's back, yay!" Canary hyperly jumped around.
    "That is a long story." Red smiled, then hugged Stormy.
    "Hey." Stormy said, then started to laugh happily.
~~~*~*~~~
    The Earth had a huge celebration. All the Color Kids, now former color kids, participated.
    Red looked at his teammates. Buddy with black hair? Patty now a red head? "What happened, do you think?" he asked all of them as a group, puzzled.
    Shy Violet, now with light brown hair and hazel eyes answered him. "I guess Rainbow's wave of Rainbows colored the universe for all it's going to need for the rest of time." she looked at the bright color around them and smiled. "We're free to return to what we were doing before, living as normal Earth kids."
    "We were doing that before?" Red asked, puzzled.
    "Yeah, don't you remember?" Stormy asked.
    "Hm... A little, it was a long time ago. So what about you?" Red looked at Stormy, who still had unnatural purple hair.
    "The earth'll always need a little help with Storms." Stormy smiled, calling Skydancer. "And I'll be there, always! I should leave now."
    "Yeah, you should.." Red said.
    "Thanks Red, for helping me. I won't forget it!"
    Red watched Stormy ride away on Skydancer, and waved.
    "Don't forget to write!" Canary shouted to her.
    "Right! Bye guys!" Stormy rode away.
~~~*~*~~~
    The former Color Kids lived relatively normal lives on Earth, once they moved to a place where no one recognized them.
    The sprites in Rainbow Land now had a normal community, for sprites that is, and the pits was no longer dark.
    As for Stormy and Moonglo, they keep on living, doing their jobs, until the end of time.

    Or something else happened. The end of time doesn't come all that quickly.
